BetMGM Starts New Responsible Gambling Campaign with NHL Superstar Connor McDavid

The MVP stars in a new 30-second spot that will be aired across the US and Canada, promoting responsible gambling tools and the GameSense program available across the BetMGM platforms.

BetMGM, one of the leaders in the American igaming space, has launched a brand new TV campaign that will air on US and Canadian TV stations over the coming period, with an aim of educating the public about the comprehensive set of responsible gaming tools available on the platform.

The spot, featuring none other than the reigning NHL MVP Connor McDavid, lasts only 30 seconds, but includes a lot of information and looks to help prospective players make better sports better decisions.

In the words of McDavid himself: “The message is all about being responsible if you choose to bet — staying in control and not getting carried away. That’s super important to me. And I really hope it’s advice that everyone follows.”

Responsible gaming has been a burning topic across the North American and international betting markets lately, with operators choosing to invest more in responsible gaming advertising and introducing new measures to help players stay on top of their spending and in control of their habits.

BetMGM at the Forefront of the Responsible Gaming Effort

Of all the igaming operators in North America, BetMGM has been one of the leaders when it comes to responsible gaming, both in terms of the tools made available and advertising.

The operator has a dedicated Responsible Gambling Team, which is in charge of all the messaging and tools in place.

Responsible gaming messages are continually delivered to the players on all desktop and mobile platforms, including the BetMGM sportsbook and BetMGM Casino US and Canada.

The overall BetMGM responsible gambling message revolves around GameSense, an award-winning RG program developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), which is used by leading igaming operators.

The GameSense program is integrated across all BetMGM products, including the mobile and desktop applications, and offers the same experience that’s available to players at live MGM Resorts properties around the US.

On top of GameSense, BetMGM also offers a number of other prominent responsible gambling tools, which allow players to self-exclude from play, limit their deposits and spending, and control their gambling in other ways.

All together, the tools ensure that problem gamblers have ways to protect themselves, and everyone else has minimal risk of falling victim to problem gambling and getting into a position where they need help in the first place.

Connor McDavid Setting an Example for Gamblers

Ever since making his NHL debut in 2016, Connor McDavid has been one of the best hockey players in the world, winning the MVP Trophy and other honors on multiple occasions.

In March 2022, McDavid became the first active American athlete to sign a deal to endorse a regulated US gaming brand when he joined BetMGM.

Over the years, the player has helped the operator promote a number of its events and campaigns, along with a number of other renowned athletes who joined the brand in the meantime.

Now, McDavid takes the role of the responsible gaming ambassador as the new ad starts running on TV stations and digital platforms across the US and Canada in the coming months.
